 Progressive relaxation is sometimes called body scan meditation; it is a meditation that encourages people to examine and study your bodies for areas of tension. The goal of this meditation is to be conscious of the tension in your body and to allow its release. During a progressive relaxation session, the key is to start at one end of your body usually on your feet, and then work it out through the whole body. Also, this meditation helps in promoting generalized feelings of calmness and relaxation. Another benefit of using this meditation is that it slowly and steadily relaxes the body, that is why some people if not all use this form of meditation to help them sleep. Zen meditation is a form of meditation that aims to find a comfortable position, focus on breathing, and mindfully observe one’s thoughts without judgment.
